In anticipation of Thanksgiving Day, Eastern Christian students from kindergarten through grade 12 were asked what they loved about their school. As we read the more the more than 500 responses we received to our question, we saw a clear pattern emerge. Our students love being part of a Christian learning community in which they can daily live out their faith, they love their friends and classmates, and they love their teachers!

One kindergartener responded that, “I like that we can learn more about God and that I can make friends,’ while her high school colleague wrote that she is thankful for, “the amazing people – friends, teachers – that have shown endless love for me. I can’t say ‘thank you’ enough.

A fifth grader wrote, “I love everything…about Eastern Christian. The nice teachers, the classes, the bright community. We all share our gifts and talents and make friends with classmates…I can’t explain how much I love it all!”

As we celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday, we join our students in thanking God for a wonderful school community composed of families that desire a Christ-centered education for their children; for faithful, generous supporters; for energetic, loving students with whom we have the incredible opportunity to work each day; and for a tremendous group of faculty and staff members who have answered the call to dedicate their working lives to this most important of all missions.

Above all, we recognize and thank the source of each of these blessings, and the thousands of others that we receive each day. “For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” (Psalm 100:5 NIV)

From all of us at Eastern Christian School, have a Happy Thanksgiving!
