Eastern Christian School Association’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ruth Kuder as Head of School of Eastern Christian School with effect from September 1, 2021. She is the first female Head of School in the school’s 129-year history. Ruth currently serves as Assistant Head of School of Eastern Christian School. She previously served in numerous positions including Chief Education Officer, High School Principal, International Student Program Director, Dean of Students, and as a member of the English and Spanish faculty.
Ruth received her undergraduate degree in History and Literature from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL, and her master’s degree in Educational Administration at the University of Scranton, Scranton, PA. As a lifelong learner, she never stops going to school. She just completed her doctoral degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN in May.
Ruth is certified by the NJ Department of Education as a Teacher, Principal and Chief School Administrator. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of Christian Schools International in Grand Rapids, MI and as a member of the New Jersey Department of Education Non-Public Advisory Committee.
Ruth, her mother, Elizabeth Almroth, and her 5 children, Rachel, Andrew, Abigail, Daniel and Samuel are graduates of the school. Her husband, Dr. Richard Kuder, has served the school as both a fourth grade teacher and a board member.
Ruth and Rich reside in Wayne, NJ and are active at Restore Christian Reformed Church in North Haledon, NJ. Please join us in congratulating her and in asking for God’s rich blessing as she leads the school.
