Eastern Christian welcomes alumna Karyn Hytrek as preschool paraprofessional.
Having attended EC from preschool to high school graduation, Karyn is grateful to be back in Northern New Jersey and back in the EC community. She earned a bachelor’s in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Messiah and is mom to four children who represent the fifth generation who have been blessed by EC’s education and community. Karyn is passionate about serving and helping the youngest children grow in their knowledge of skills but more importantly that Jesus loves them. Karyn and her family attend Emergence Church, the Ringwood Campus, where she serves in the children’s ministry.
I grew up in Prospect Park with my two loving parents and younger brother. When I am not teaching, I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends. I also greatly enjoy being in nature either it be taking a walk or sitting by the lake, serving at church, and eating ice cream.
I have been blessed to be part of the EC community from preschool to high school graduation. After high school graduation, I attended Messiah College (University). After quite an adventure of moving to various states, starting a family, and experiencing teaching and serving children in various areas and cultures, I am back in northern NJ. After my children were enrolled, I started substituting primarily in the elementary school, and now this year I get to be blessed by the preschoolers and their families.
After having such a wonderful school experience here at EC, I always knew I wanted to come back and be part of the community again. To this day, I remember the authentic love and care that was given daily from all my teachers. In addition, I remember the safety to grow in my understanding of Christ is, who I am in Christ, and how I live out my faith to the best of my ability. After enrolling my children at EC, I could immediately see that EC is still faithful in growing and shaping children to know and love Jesus.
