Project Lead, a student spiritual leadership group under the direction of Mr. Jim Uitermarkt and Mrs. Leah Genuario, has unveiled the schedule for this year’s Spiritual Emphasis Week. Now in its third year, the first week of the second semester has been set aside as a time to focus on the Lord. Although classes remain in session as normal, the week’s SOARs all focus on a spiritual component. This year, that week falls on January 24-27.

This year’s event will start off on Tuesday with a choice of three pastor panels. Ten local pastors have agreed to answer student-submitted questions on three different topics: Christianity 101 and addressing doubts; relationship with God, self and others; and perseverance in the faith. Students will have a choice of which session they would like to attend.

The keynote address will be delivered on Wednesday by Pastor Patrick Pierre from Times Square Church in New York City. Times Square Church was founded by Pastor David Wilkerson, who became a prominent name in faith circles after the book The Cross and The Switchblade was published. Thursday and Friday will include a gospel message, an opportunity for response, worship, student testimony and prayer. The week will conclude with a community worship night on Friday evening.
