Please tell us about yourself.

I grew up in New Jersey and I am considered a “lifer” here at EC. I grew up playing all kinds of sports as a kid. My career as an athlete extended beyond my years at EC and I played college basketball at Gordon College. I love to spend time with my family, three dogs, and friends. After spending a year in Massachusetts teaching first  grade, I decided it was time to come home. I am beyond excited to see what God has in store for me here at EC again.

I am passionate about helping students grow in their faith and discovering their gifts and talents. My passion for Christ and for walking alongside others in their faith is something I greatly value.

Tell the story of how you got to EC?

God had a plan for me to be a teacher long before I even thought it for myself. I grew up working at Eagles Sports camp during the summers. This 7+ years of experience opened my heart to kids and building connections with them. I then proceeded to get my degree in elementary education where I was equipped with the tools and skills to become an educator. A year after school, I taught in Rockport Massachusetts, where I was able to dive into who I was as a teacher and where I wanted to be.

After working in a public school, I quickly realized that my faith is something that I want to share and help nurture in others. It’s then that I turned to EC, a school that I had grown up at, that had nurtured my faith the way I want to nurture others. I am so excited to be at a school that integrates faith into every aspect, creating a Christ centered culture.

What sets EC apart?

Growing up going to Eastern Christian has taught me the value of intentional relationships with others and the importance of working hard toward your goals. It also instilled in me that God is my firm foundation. He is a God that shows unconditional love and grace toward us, just as we should do the same. That is a truth that sets EC apart from most. The six core values, Seek Truth, Serve Others, Embrace Community, Exhibit Compassion, Develop Responsibility and Strive for Excellence, are evident in every facet of Eastern Christian schooling. It is clear God is working in these kids’ lives. From chapel services and worshiping God to service projects and showing kids that they are never too young to make a difference, EC is making a change and working in the lives of its students. I can’t wait to be a part of that change!
